About
Founded by Paul Ottey in 1930 and joined by his son-in-law Fred Hoopes in 1955, Ottey & Hoopes (O&H) provides quality dimension stone including North American granite, Indiana limestone, US marble, New York solid formation bluestone, and US slate. It is now in its third generation serving eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. O&H specializes in identifying historic stone, finding the match or providing a modern solution when the original quarry no longer exists. O&H also offers granite curbing and in-house curb layouts. Our work is primarily commercial, institutional and governmental construction. We are not countertop fabricators. Please note that our offices are not open to the public and we do not operate an onsite showroom.

After many years working in the supplier industry, I have never dealt with behaviour this overwhelming or unprofessional. The owner constantly projected her stress onto everyone around, making the environment tense, chaotic, and frankly unbearable. Instead of collaborating, there was a repeated pattern of going behind people’s backs, creating conflict, and refusing to communicate directly when it mattered most. As a stone broker, she regularly avoided going to her own client for clarifications or confirmations, even when additional information was urgently needed. This is a basic part of the job, yet she refused out of fear of “stressing them,” leaving everyone else to deal with the confusion. That behaviour is completely abnormal in a professional setting and shows a lack of understanding of how the process actually works. Overall, this was the most draining, dysfunctional, and frustrating working relationship of my entire career.
